NRA Members Support NRA's Positions on Gun Control (Contrary to Claims by Gun Control Advocates)
February 20, 2013
Contrary to the rhetoric put out by gun control advocates, NRA members overwhelmingly support the NRA's positions on the current gun control legislative proposals.
NRA membership at the time of Sandy Hook was around 4 million. In January I heard it was approaching 4.5m. In early February I was told it was approaching 5m. America is indeed speaking up. How many other mature, decades-old organizations in our entire history can claim a 25% increase in membership in 2 months?
Since the first time I heard it said, I have been very skeptical of gun control advocates' statements that 'most NRA members support these gun control initiatives' followed by some percentage of support. Really? Where did those advocates get an NRA membership list from which to conduct such a study in a scientific (well designed, objective) way? I'm glad to see the NRA has conducted a survey and shared its results.
