Washington Times: Man who shot dogs biting boy could face charges

January 24, 2013

In the midst of the current gun control debate and in consideration of other very recent incidents and statements, the hypocrisy here is unfathomable.

A Good Samaritan in Washington D.C. SAVED A CHILD'S LIFE by killing 1 of 3 pit bulls who were attacking him (police killed the other 2 dogs). Now Mr. Samaritan may face serious prosecution based upon the legality of the firearm he used, whether he fired from within his own property line and other nonsense. I don't care if this gun was legal. I don't care if he legally owned it (in a city notorious for outlawing gun ownership). I don't care if he was on his own property while coming to the defense of someone else's life. HE SAVED A CHILD'S LIFE with it! What was it President Obama said recently? "If there is even one life that can be saved..." Here's 1 life that has been saved (just 1 of MANY in just the past few weeks that are documented in non-mainstream media). Now why don't we get rid of the ridiculous and ineffective gun control laws that would get in the way of saving this life and so many others? Incidentally, I don't know how many rounds were fired by Mr. Samaritan AND the police who together killed the THREE dogs. I wonder how this might play out with an arbitrary 7 (Gov Cuomo) or 10 (Sen Feinstein) round legal limit. Here is the scenario outlined by gun rights advocates - multiple armed attackers. These attackers were armed with sharp teeth, powerful jaws and blunt objects. (Their bodies. Have you ever tried standing in the way of a large, attacking dog?) And this is not the only "multiple attacker / intruder" incident to be reported in just the past few days.

This in the same city where a journalist knowingly broke the city's possession laws when he possessed a 30-round magazine in his television program. He knew it was illegal. He sought exemption from it and was DENIED. He did it anyway, knowingly broke the law and will not be prosecuted.
