Violent Crime is Down and Rifles Seldom Used

Not only has violent crime been declining even as firearms in circulation increases, but deaths caused with a rifle number less than 400 annually (2011? data) and so-called "assault weapons" are a subset of rifles. Our politicians and media are focusing on the wrong things.
