Gun Control Advocates Defy Laws of Physics

May 7, 2013

Has Senator Manchin found a way to violate the laws of physics?

Senator Manchin claims his firearms background check bill "expands the Second Amendment". Really? How does anything that RESTRICTS what's already in place "expand" it? If there's something in the Manchin bill that expands our 2nd Amendment rights he failed to explain it in this interview.

"We need to educate law-abiding gun owners, like myself, people that might belong to the NRA ... This bill not only protects your Second Amendment but expands the Second Amendment."

According to Dictionary.com, "expand" means "to increase in extent, size, volume, scope, etc." How exactly does he accomplish that in his bill? How could he possibly do that when, on the same day the background check bill failed, gun control advocating senators blocked 1-2 bills that arguably would have expanded the 2nd Amendment for veterans whose rights are being removed unfairly?

I'm not convinced Senator Manchin is evil, unlike Senator Dianne Feinstein. I think he's trying to do what he thinks is right and he's one of the people actually looking for middle ground. But he loses credibility when he takes something designed to restrict and claims it expands, just like when Feinstein defied physics in her statement earlier this year about her having seen "imploding bullets".
