Texas makes progress in moving toward allowing licensed concealed carry holders to carry firearms in college campuses.
"While politicians are uncomfortable with the idea of firearms on campuses, most law enforcement officers believe just the fact that people on campus are armed will serve as a deterrent to everything from spree killings to robberies on college property"
"Meanwhile on Saturday -- which was proclaimed "gun day" by both supporters and opponents of the bill --the Texas House proposed that Texas state officials should vote on a number of bills that would revise and ease gun laws that were already considered some of America's most lenient gun-control measures."
"The survey [by PoliceOne of 15,000 police officers] answers revealed that the overall attitude of law enforcement is strongly anti-gun legislation and pro-gun rights, with the belief that an armed citizenry is effective in stopping crime."
