Will it never end? Believe it or not, I do not re-share and comment on most of the 2nd Amendment debate news that comes to me daily, yet as you all know, I have ample material to write about daily.
So a friend, [name], posts this 3:47 comedy video. For those unfamiliar with these Hitler videos, there are several of them that have been produced in past years. The video clip is always the same but the captions are changed to suit the current material. I watched and laughed. But then I wondered about the title and captions. I hadn't heard about an injunction on New York's new SAFE Act. So I went looking. And I was happy to find this. I didn't hear about it today but I suspect it'll be in the news tomorrow.

Thank God there's still some detectable sense in the world among power players. In this case, a New York Supreme Court Justice.
Adding more comedy to the evening, a tweet with this article arrived after the Hitler video.

Forget for a moment that New York passed the SAFE Act "without public hearings or a three-day review required of bills under the state constitution. The measure was debated, passed and signed within hours". Forget for a moment that, when in their frenzy to pass new controlling legislation, they forgot to exempt law enforcement officers from the weapons and magazine bans. Oops. Now His Honor, Governor Cuomo, wants to carve out an exemption for Hollywood. Now that the states $7B revenue (since 2004) is at stake, "There's no reason not to make a change like that to give an industry comfort, especially when it's an industry we want to do business in the state". So in New York, "The revised law would allow them [Hollywood] to use real weapons without real ammunition" but otherwise law abiding citizens of the state in simple possession of empty 8+ round magazines, no bullets or firearms, would be charged with crimes and convicted as felons!

This so-called "clean up" legislation of the SAFE Act allows for more open debate and opposition and may have a material impact on its final form, assuming it has a final form and it survives the coming injunction.
