More on Gun Confiscation

March 12, 2013

I've mentioned in past posts that firearms CONFISCATION has OCCURRED in our country's very recent history. Here's another article that highlights that it did happen in post-Katrina New Orleans. It's good to see there's some awareness of this in Washington DC. Thank you, Senator Lindsey Graham. Pokes a rather large and inconvenient hole in the 'no one's talking about taking your guns' claim, doesn't it? This recent factual account and the 4 states that are considering legislation this year that does, in fact, include firearms confiscation (CA, MO, MN, AL).

" There, thousands of weapons – legally obtained and owned – were grabbed from citizens after New Orleans Police Superintendent P. Edwin Compass III announced: “Only law enforcement are allowed to have weapons.”

To make sure the message was loud and clear, the city’s Deputy Police Chief Warren Riley told ABC News: “No one will be able to be armed. We are going to take all the weapons.”

Then they did exactly that. "

There are 3 videos embedded in the article that show the exchange between Senator Graham and Attorney General Eric Holder and the firearms confiscation that occurred in New Orleans.

In the exchange, Holder refers to Graham's description as being "hypothetical" and shortly thereafter refers to the New Orleans situation in past tense 'I don't think New Orleans would have been better served'. They KNOW it happened. And they won't even admit it in plain language. They cannot deny it happened. But they won't say 'yes, we did it and we think it was right' or 'yes, we did it and we made a mistake'. They did do it and apparently think it was right. It does fit their agenda to disarm law abiding citizens. They just won't admit out loud that that's their ultimate goal because it contradicts their oft stated claim that they're not trying to disarm America or confiscate firearms.

Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa sees gun confiscation on the horizon too. This article is mostly a repeat of the one above but with Grassley's comments in the Senate Judiciary Committee added at the top.
