In predictable fashion, this ABC News article mentions that the statistic attributed to the NRA is disputed but doesn't mention that the risk and numbers used by the gun control advocate on camera are also disputed. Just as predictable is that the interview includes a gun control advocate outside the context of the ranges where most filming was done, but does not include a 2nd Amendment / gun rights advocate from the outside.
