Senator Dianne Feinstein Is a Menace

March 14, 2013

Senator Dianne Feinstein is a menace to our 2nd Amendment rights! If you believe in those rights, I strongly encourage you to write your federal and state legislators and voice your opposition to the current gun control bills. For federal, you can contact them through here:http://www.congress.org/congressorg/mail/?alertid=61046526&type=ML The NRA provides this website to contact your federal and / or state representatives:http://www.nraila.org/get-involved-locally/grassroots/write-your-reps.aspx

Here is a 2:58 video of an interesting, heated exchange from earlier today between Senators Ted Cruz and Dianne Feinstein over S.150, the "Assault Weapons Ban of 2013" that passed the Senate Judiciary Committee today. Feinstein employs her usual deception and lies.

"I'm not a 6th-grader." Opinion: She rants like one; applies (lack of) logic like one; ignores facts like one; lies like one; and is stubborn like one.

"I've seen the bullets that implode." Really? Dictionary.com defines "implode" as "to burst inward". Do we really have imploding bullets? Am I missing something? Can someone educate me? Is she referring to hollow-point bullets that "mushroom"? Does she know that hollow-point bullets are designed to provide greater "stopping power" (definitely a self defense issue - a greater, quicker transfer of energy from the bullet to the target) and that while doing arguably more damage to the target also decreases the risk to bystanders because they don't carry through the original target and hit others like "ball" rounds can? Is she aware that our police forces use hollow-point bullets?

Giving Feinstein the benefit of the doubt that she knows something I don't about "imploding" bullets, I turned to Google. I found the following comments:

* "Imploding bullets sounds scary! I do however agree that bullets that implode defies the laws of physics and could be a danger to this universe and so it must be banned.
And since when are bazookas firearms? The Constitution isn't about "needs", it's about rights."

* "Imploding Bullets? Really? I would like to see the evidence of proof Senator. Bullets do not implode. Dismemeberment? I am a Physician and I have seen dismemeberment- but never from a gunshot would. I am also a firearms owner and reloader. You are a liar madam Senator. Then again, it si not about the truth is it? It is all about what you deem necessary based on your insight as to what we need.
What we really need is term limits across the board for State and Federal legislators."

"Do they need a bazooka?" Really? Has a bazooka EVER been allowed for private ownership. Has a "bazooka" EVER been used outside of warfare? Has a "bazooka" been used anywhere since WW II? The military doesn't even employ "bazookas" today and hasn't for decades. (Yes, there are other man-portable rocket launchers that have replaced the "bazooka" but they are not available for private ownership.)

"Do they need other high powered weapons that military people use..." Most of the so-called "assault weapons" she's targeting in S.150 are NOT "high powered". They tend to be on the lower end of the scale as measured by ammunition caliber which is a determining factor of the firearm itself. The other firearm factor is semiautomatic vs. fully automatic or burst fire capabilities. Fully automatic and burst fire are already restricted. Feinstein is targeting 100-year old semiautomatic functionality that is the same for all firearms (rifles, handguns, shotguns) that use it - one trigger pull equals one round fired. Force of a round is determined by many factors including caliber, velocity, and others. Velocity is affected by the amount of grains of gunpowder used in the ammunition shells and differs by product and manufacturer, including people who reload their own. These so-called "assault weapons" are NOT the same as actual military assault rifles and are NOT used by standing armies or "military people".

In this video, Feinstein claims Cruz used the word "prohibit". It doesn't appear in this video clip. Perhaps there was some exchange that precedes this clip.

I've seen another clip that shows the moments after this clip. Cruz calls out Feinstein for not answering his question. She responds that the answer is obvious - "no". (The question is about whether Feinstein thinks it's appropriate that the 1st or 4th Amendments, which use the same "right of the people" phrase used in the 2nd Amendment, should be limited in similar ways as her proposal for the 2nd Amendment, with illustrative examples given.)

This slightly longer 3:08 clip of the same exchange shows that Feinstein immediately apologized to Cruz after her remarks, admitting that he got her gander up. It still does not show Cruz calling her out to answer his actual question.

I just heard that later in the day, after this heated exchange between Senators Cruz & Feinstein, Feinstein referred to Cruz as being "arrogant and aggressive". Is that the pot calling the kettle black, or what?!?!?!? It seems Mz. Feinstein doesn't like it when people don't agree with her, oppose her, or don't show her the respect she believes she's due. Hey, that's something she shares in common with hoodlums and gang bangers. Maybe she does represent a portion of gun-toting America after all.
